Venezianos Lane

A set of fifteen houses built in the beginning of the 20th century, following the colonial portuguese style in Brazil.

It is said that the houses were built for rental purposes, within the same piece of property.

In the original building no cement was used between the bricks and there was no plaster on the walls. The internal divisions were originally made of wood.

Historical Heritage

The original characteristics of the houses and even the details in the building and on the street has been preserved, although the walls coverage and painting is damaged by the time.

Once in India I did fieldwork there on Heritage Preservation with comparative purposes. Article on this subject is going to get published soon.

Recently the "Venezianos Lane" case was also presented in South Africa.

Along with Prof.Dr. David Bogopa, a joint research project was accomplished.
